eGames’
Retail Portfolio a Cut Above the Rest with Sweeney
Todd
Meaty Sales
Expected for Follow-up from Sleepy Hollow
Developer
LANGHORNE, Pa., March 1, 2010 - Casual games
publisher and developer eGames, Inc. (Pink Sheets: EGAM) announced a publishing
agreement with pixelStorm entertainment studios Inc. today to distribute
award-winning casual hidden object adventure game Penny Dreadfuls™: Sweeney Todd to retail outlets this spring. Sweeney
Todd follows the fall 2009 release of highly successful Mystery Legends™: Sleepy Hollow as the
second publishing collaboration between the two companies.
“With Sleepy Hollow
on pace to become the best-selling boxed title in eGames history, we are thrilled
to partner with pixelStorm once again to bring Sweeney Todd to retail,” said eGames Vice President of Sales and
Marketing, Rich Siporin. “Sleepy Hollow was one of the
best-selling downloadable games in 2008 and recognized as the Best Hidden
Object Game of the Year by the Big Fish Games Customer Favorites Awards program. Comparing the two, Sweeney Todd is vastly outperforming Sleepy Hollow online at an equivalent point in time, so we anticipate
significant results once Sweeney Todd
hits retail shelves.”
As eGames builds on a profitable second fiscal
quarter, Sweeney Todd beefs up an
already meaty retail box lineup including Treasure
Seekers: Visions of Gold™, The
Dracula Files, The Adventures of Robinson
Crusoe, Enlightenus™, G.H.O.S.T. Chronicles™, 4 Elements™, Liong: The Lost Amulets, The Lost Inca
Prophecy, and Sleepy Hollow. With distribution in all major software
retailers, eGames has positive momentum heading into the second half of the company’s
fiscal year.
Based on the macabre 19th century story
popularized in an award-winning Broadway musical and feature films, Sweeney Todd charges players with
unraveling the mystery of murderous barber Sweeney Todd and a neighboring
bakery’s delicious yet suspicious meat pie recipe. With cinematic scenes played out in song
accompanied by a professionally-produced soundtrack, players search dreary
London, solving puzzles and piecing together evidence to solve a litany of dubious
disappearances. An interactive strategy
guide and helpful hint system ensure even amateur night watchmen can triumph
over the demon barber of Fleet Street.
